Today’s photo of the week is from Japan
The Hozomon (“treasure house gate”) marks the entrance of the Senso-Ji buddhist temple, in Asakusa, Tokyo. First build in 942 AD it has been destroyed and reconstructed several times. It’s a huge monument, 22.7 m tall, 21 m wide, and 8 m deep.
Behind shines the Tokyo Sky Tree, with its last floors in the clouds. It was raining quite much at this time
The photo is a long exposure, shot with my Samyang 14mm lens, in order to get the whole building in the frame, which is quite a challenge as it is very big, but there is not a lot of room near it to shoot the Hozomon with a standard lens.
Standard processing with Adobe Lightroom, mainly temperature correction, and a bit of dodge and burn here and there.
